good resources for Germany?
I'm having a hard time finding resources, beyond Oktoberfest, Castles, and Nazies. There's gotta be more to this country?!? Can anyone help?

Meredith,
You better believe there's more than what you've found! Almost every region, city, town and village in Germany has a website with links to tourist activities. Type in the location followed by .de For example, take a look at www.oberammergau.de

For rail information, check out:
www.bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/en

For hotels, inns and gasthausen, check:
http://www.reisen-mit-preisen.de/rmp...sh-framee.html

For almost anywhere in Germany, check:
www.entry.de/index

For Bavaria, check:
www.munich-tourist.de
www.bavaria.com
www.allgaeu-schwaben.com/aenglish.htm
www.alpinpanorama.de/deutschland.htm

For the German National Tourist Office:
www.deutschland-tourismus.de/e/

All of the above have links to additional resources. All are in English.

Now, tell me what you're specifically looking for and I'll see what I can come up with.

Well, looks like we'll probably be staying in Munich. I've heard that outside Munich are some wonderful landmarks and expansive scenary. We thought about staying in Berlin (my boyfriend has close family relatives there), but we're from NYC, and we'd rather visit the largest city in Europe, rather than stay in it!

My Boyfriend has been to Berlin and Munich a few times. As i mentioned he has family there. But i require a bit more knowledge and more resources. I like to have an idea of what is available...ya know, options.

Try Rick Steves book, the Best of Germany, Switzerland and Austria. We found it very helpful.

Berlin with its 3M people isn't really that large, Paris and London are both more than twice as large (populationwise).
