Good price for airfare to London?
I just got an email from AirFrance advertising their new service from LAX to London. They have a rate of $222.00 one way from Apr -May 24th. Seems pretty good what do you think?
I wanted to plan a trip to Europe for my 40th but the Euro has me grim. We do have friends in London we can stay with : ) |
The taxes are going to be pretty high for landing in a London airport. I suspect this fare will work out to be around $800 all-in, but give it a try.

If that rate includes taxes then it's great. I'd expect to pay around $600 and up for your time frame.
Lowest rates in Nov-Mar. Summer rates are the highest so you're talking about the shoulder season. Remember it's mostly guesswork with prices! |
Taxes will be around $180 - $190, so around $640 all in. Excellent price for the season.
The fare's not loaded (yet) on ITA, which is showing $1114 all in for arbitrary dates (for the nonstop, around $200 less via CDG.) |
"<i>The taxes are going to be pretty high for landing in a London airport.</i>"
Well not actually. The increase is the departure tax so if you do some sort of open jaw into London and out of Paris or somewhere else you could avoid some of the taxes/fees. But $444 R-T plus taxes is still pretty good. What are they quoting for the total price?? |
was posting the same time as Gardyloo - I was guestimating just under $650 but didn't look it up.

Thanks for your replies. I checked out dates on AF and found a fare including taxes for $614.00. I checked out Virgin for the same dates and wow, it was $1120.00. Of course I do think Virgin is more comfortable but that saves a lot of dough on AF.
