it never ceases to amaze me that one man (Greenspan) has the influence in the American mind as to take a person who is perfectly happy at the moment, and with a word bring them to their knees....he needs to retire.

Greenspan is has already annouced his retirement at the end of January. Rather than applauding his retirement, we should be thankful for his service. He is a brilliant man, and has been fantastic in his 18 years on the board.

Well, in case you're missing out on the miss, not only is he retiring, his successor (Ben Bernanke) was announced fairly recently.
