good news for Italian trains
For these three saturday: March 16, April 13 and May 11, not depending from destination and from distance, every ticket for a IC train costs only 10 euro, even in first class if reservation allows it.
It is very interesting for travellers of long distances.

Vincenzo: We will be traveling by train from Venice to Milan on May 11th. How would we go about taking advantage of the 10 euro price? Can these tickets be reserved from the US, or would we be able to obtain them in Rome on our arrival from the US. We had planned to buy our tickets in Rome either at Termini or the American Express office near Spagna.

j

Wow! Vicenzo and Santa Chiara, thanks for the heads-up!

I am travelling Feb 16th (yes, this Saturday) from Milano to Trento on an IC and an EC train. Since I can only approximately read Italian, I couldn't tell on the "fine print" on trenitalia when I change trains, if I pay 10 EUR for each leg or 10 EUR total.

Can I get this special price if I reserve right at the train station, right before leaving?

Also, do I have to ask for a special 'promozione'?

Thanks!

Yes, Santa Chiara the first time is the next Saturday: I didn't write this news because, wrong, I thought for people planning trips not in very short period.
Joanne, on your arrival from U.S. you buy tickets for May 11th. You must keep IC (not ES) and tell that you want to use this promotion.
Mariarosa, OK already this saturday, as we know. The price of 10 euro includes the whole travel you'll have.
You buy the ticket usually and ask for this promotion.
I'll use it on March.
So, the first users, please, tell us the lived experience.
W il treno !
