I loved the Colon. If you can't get a room facing the Cathedral (which are more expensive), ask for one on the 5th floor. They all have wonderful balconies. Sure the view isn't the best (we had rooftops), the balcony was so restful with its plants and hammock. On Saturdays and Sundays around 5:30pm or so, the locals gather in the square, as Ann mentioned, to dance the Sardana. It is a wonderful experience.

Paul,

The Claris is an exceptionally good, and centrally located design hotel. It's at Paseig de Gracia, on the corner of Pau Claris. It's small, has a rooftop pool, and even a small Egypian Museum. Other nice hotels, centrally located are the Avenida, the St. Moritz, Majestic, Condes de Barcelona, Havana, Alexandra, and Inglaterra.

Surlok
