Good Hotel Web Sites

Anyone know any good sites to find hotels in France. I am looking for a hotel in the south of France and wanted to see if there are any sites I can check other than:
Expedia
Hotels.com
Venere.com

Thanks!

Please do not book with Hotels.com. I booked five of my last European hotels on their website and had problems with every reservation.

Everyone will have different opinions on where to look. Personally, I have never had a bad experience with Priceline.com. Granted, you don't know what hotel you will get before bidding, but if placed right, you'll be happy. If you do venture into Priceline.com, make sure you check out www.biddingfortravel.com before placing a bid.

Now, other websites for hotels are:

France Tourism: http://www.francetourism.com/

Choice Hotels: www.choicehotels.com
Orbitz: www.orbitz.com
Travelocity: www.travelocity.com
Holiday Inn: www.holidayinn.com
Best Western: www.bestwestern.com
Hilton Hotels: www.hilton.com
Marriott: www.marriott.com
Accor Hotels: www.accorhotels.com

You can also search hotels by Airline websites like:

American: www.aa.com
United: www.ual.com
Northwest: www.nwa.com
UsAirways: www.usairways.com
Continental: www.continental.com
Delta: www.delta.com

If you are wanting to find a special hotel, I would ask someone or do a search on this message board. That is how I found my hotel in Paris in March. If this doesn't work, try a travel agency like AAA (www.aaa.com).

Once you find a hotel, make sure you do a search on TripAdvisor.com to review previous peoples stays. You can do this by going to google.com and typing in "Reviews of ...Hotel..." Good luck.

I'd use websites for identifying hotel candidates, check here for any bad seeds, then book directly with the hotels.
These 2 sites have offerings for France:
www.cybevasion.com
www.france.com

I think it is worthwhile to check Logis de France (usually smaller towns and rural, and more budget-oriented, family-run, in many cases), and www.webscapades.com (somewhat higher end).

Best wishes,

Rex

For Nice we use

Another good one for the south of France in general is

www.allrez.com

france.com is also useful.
