GOOD FRIDAY IN PARIS? ARE THINGS OPEN?

Hi everyone!

Just decided to take the kids to Paris! However, we are restricted to the week that includes Good Friday because of the college schedule.

Does anyone know if most sites and museums are open? Does the Metro run all day like usual?

I'm getting ready to go looking for special events/concerts that week but does anyone know of any off hand? Especially at Notre Dame or St. Chapelle.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

All museums, shops, transportation, etc. have a regular schedule in Paris on Good Friday, since this is not a legal holiday. The only "special events" on that day may take place in churches!
I will be in Paris then also and flying home on Easter. Poor planning on my part. My research shows that 80% of the French are Catholic so the churches and cathedrals may be packed.

Thanks for the information Joelle.

Hi Tina, we will also be flying out on Easter but had no choice. One of my stepsons ends school 3-27 and starts again 4-5! Didn't leave us with much choice...

The churches and cathedrals are very nice but if they're packed, there are many other things to do.

Have a great trip!
