Good apartment rental agency in Rome
I have heard horror stories about renting an apartment in Rome. Do you have any suggestions for reputable agencies? Would it be possible to begin a rental on Thursday or should be plan to get a hotel for a day or two and then a week at the apartment. When I was last in Rome I stayed with a friend in her apartment on Via Tasso and it was wonderfully well located, but I fell in love with the Trastevere neighborhood as I walked around the city on my own.

We stayed near the Pantheon (via del gesu) through sleep in italy. I was very pleased with everything even the 80+ steps to the fourth floor! We came home fitter!

I just rented a samll apartment near Piazza Navona through VRBO and could not have been happier with the owner support, location, and apartment. I can't remember the number but it is listed as "renovated flat in a 17th century pallazo" or something like that.

I used Sleep in Italy and had no issues - I got their name through this forum. I also had contact with Tim at Real Rome and he was great - I would have used him but he did not have a good apartment for us during the time period we needed.

We used Real Rome (Tim Pearson) and had a very good experience with that agency

I will try both Sleep in Italy and Real Rome. I hoped to be in Rome for about 8-10 days with day trips , especially to Pompeii. I did a day trip to Pompeii using the train and the instruction posted by Paradise Lost before and had no problem. Thanks.

I also used www.sleepinitaly.com and was pleased. I had to contact them numerous times due to a wheelchair issue regarding the apartment and they were always very helpful.

There are several good threads already about rental agencies in Rome, so you may try searching here. We used SleepinItaly and had no issues with them.

We used Real Rome last October and were very happy with the service and the apartment.
