Golden Circle and Silfra Question
 

Hi,

We (two young couples) will be traveling to Iceland for the first time in July. We have booked a private tour of the Golden Circle for the day we arrive. We will be landing approx 6am, driving car rental to our hotel (Grimsborgir near Selfoss) and being picked up by guide. The tour is 8 hours and customizable to our preferences. We are intrigued by snorkeling in Silfra but are wondering if it’s worth “wasting” about 2.5 of 8 hours of the paid guide to do the snorkeling in the middle of the day. Otherwise what are your thoughts on having the guide drop us to Silfra at the end of the 8 hours? Or should we pass on Silfra? We don’t really have time in the rest of our itinerary to fit in in on a different day. Thanks for your feedback!
