My daughter and I did a self-guided Mayfair Walk from the Eyewitness guide book. If you do this, don't pass up the Charbonnel et Walker chocolate shop on Old Bond Street, it's to die for; and you will end up at Piccadilly Street near Fortnum &amp; Mason's, a great place for afternoon tea and to buy good souvenirs. For Martha Grimes fans, you will pass the Running Footman Pub, also.

You might want to explore the Camden Market, then take a narrowboat from Camden Locks through Regents Park to Little Venice. You can catch a tube back to your digs from there. Also consider some of the Original London Walks. Get their brochure; it it's a nice day see if any of their excursions tickle your fancy. The tours are informative and often show you things you wouldn't easily discover on your own.<BR><BR>Have a great trip.<BR><BR>V.<BR><BR>P.S. I also love to wander in St.James Park or the Embankment Gardens in April. The primroses are in bloom, people are smiling because the sun in shining, children are marveling at the exotic birds. Take a book, sit on a bench, relax, enjoy.

I like to go to the Groucho Club for lunch, have two vodka martinis, and watch Stephen Fry spill a basil and tomato omlette all over his sweater. Great fun.

To:Sasha, Glad to be of some help.<BR><BR>LeadenHall Market is not big,there are some pubs and sotres,couple butchers and fish shops,but it's an interesting area to walk around. <BR><BR>If you happen to be in that area,not too far away, do visit the church&quot;St.Mary-le-Bow&quot;,one of the most beautiful Wren Churches,where &quot;Bow Bells&quot; located. The cafe at the 11th century crypt offers good food. Or try down the Lodon tower,the cafe at church &quot;All-Hollow-in the Wall&quot; is quite good too.<BR><BR>For market, I enjoyed the Sunday market at Spitalfields and nearby, it's busy and crowed,but not touristy. <BR><BR>Another one I like a lot is Borough Market, south of the River. It is said to be the trendiest food market in town,open Thursday afternoon,Friday and Saturday. Last time,I had a hearty english breakfast at the Borough Cafe,it was quite an experience,as the motherly cook joking all the time, called everyone &quot;Darling&quot;,and spoke not bad Japanses.

You might want to check out Time Out Guides &quot;Book of London Walks&quot;. It's easy to find once you get to London, and you might be able to buy it elsewhere. It has great itineraries, with walks of varying lengths. The itineraries have been proposed by various London literary types.

Hampton court was cool. Nice little cafeteria there. The ceremony of the keys was a cool short ceremony. Cabinet war rooms was interesting. Windsor castle was cool. Have a great time! We had perfect weather, hope you do too!
