Going to Italy?....buy sandals/shoes while there
My wife bought 3 pairs of sandals/shoes while in Italy and was sorry she didn't buy more.
She paid 25-35 euros a pair and yesterday we saw comparable shoes in nordstrom's for 95-175 |
That's 3 times the price!
I need a business partner :) |
Confessions of a shoe addict
Dick - I think you got off lucky! Last trip to Italy (fall 2003) I left with seven pairs in total! All for the same price range you quoted. I'm looking forward to our trip this fall so I can "restock"! |
I'd like to have a few addresses of shoeshops in Italy where I can buy shoes at 25-35 euros! Be it in Belgium (where I live), in France or in Italy, it's very hard to find nice shoes for less than 100 euro. So please ... for our upcoming trip to Italy.

I want those addresses too!!!

I would also love some suggestions. Leaving in 28 days. Wherever I travel there is always at least one pair of shoes or sandals with my name on it.So any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Try Furla stores in all the big cities as well as Lucca and Siena and more.
Their shoes and handbags are so much cheaper in Italy, even with the dollar doing so poorly against the Euro. Have visted Furla stores in Orlando and Tampa, and they are way more expensive than in Italy. Try it! |
When we were in Germany year before last, some friends of ours (Germans) introduced us to Walberschuhe, a brand of shoes that looks just like Birkenstocks, and they are just as long-lasting and comfortable, but cheaper. We got a few pairs and are still wearing them comfortably. They took us to the factory store to purchase the shoes, but I cannot remember what city it was in. It could not have been far from Karlsruhe, which was where we stayed. Anyone else have any of these shoes? No one I know has ever heard of them, but we love them!

Hi ladies (and gents) -
I don't have specific addresses for shoe stores. I bought most of my shoes in Florence at stores in and around the Duomo. I also lucked out in Rome near Piazza Navona in a small store. I just want to clarify that the shoes I bought were all on sale and their normal prices ranged from 100 to 120 Euros. They were all summer stock - fall shoes were not on sale. Have fun shopping! |
