You should get plenty of ideas from<BR>http://www.visitbritain.com/nl/home3.asp this is the part of the Visit Britain site for people travelling from the Netherlands.<BR>The bit for Americans has a &quot;virtual vacation&quot; at<BR> http://www.travelbritain.org/newhome...al/virtual.htm this will give you a good overview and ideas about what to do..<BR>It also has sections for different sorts of travellers, mature, gay, students etc.

Ireland is not part of Great Britain. Neither is Northern Ireland, although NI is part of the United Kingdom.

Monique, it would be best if you narrow your options and preferences. Do you want an urban or rural experience? Train travel or coach (bus)? Museums or nightclubs. This forum has a wide range of advice to offer, but you have to help us help you. I can help with the Southwest of Scotland, (or those places I've visite), others have much more to offer. Six weeks is a long time, but the four places you have listed could take 40 years each to explore. I can't wait to hear what you discover, have a grand time!

All departure lounges, especially back to the US.

Not so sure abouts Dave's unforgettable list. I am constantly trying to forget Peterborough. I would suggest going to Stamford instead of Peterborough (unless you are using the train station, or perhaps making a quick visit to the cathedral).

I have tried to e-mail you two documents, each with some inserts on England, Wales and Scotland [notes and URLs on some of my favourite areas} but the first one has just been returned with address unknown and I expect the second shortly. If you want them, send me an e-mail and I will try to insert them by return - it usually works.
