Going to Belarus while this situation in Ukraine

What do you think, is it wise to travel Belarus while all these happening with Ukraine?
My fiancée lives in Minsk and we planned that I will come to her in April from German by car. And I found that from now all belarusian boarders are opened. (justarrived.by reports this)
So you know, she says it's quit in Belarus. But I've got so many doubts

How would you get there?
How would you get out?
Would you want to get out?

I'd try and get her out without going in. You don't want to become another government kidnap victim.

Do you mean "it's quiet"? Look Belarus brought a commercial aircraft down with two fighters last year because they wanted to kidnap 2 people.

I think that the OP intended to drive from Germany.

The US State department has Belarus listed as a Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory. From what I have read on the State Department website, they have closed the embassy in Minsk and ordered the departure of US government employees.

Even Ireland is listed as Level 4: Do Not Travel. It seems the US State Department doesn’t want US citizens to travel anywhere these days.

In the case of Belarus, you don’t say which country you are a citizen of, but if your embassy is closed you will have difficulty getting help if detained by the authorities or get into trouble in some other way. A westerner travelling in Belarus these days might be regarded with some suspicion, so I wouldn’t risk travelling there just now.

Sorry didn't notice that you are driving.
Wait times on Polish Belarus border crossings

https://granica.gov.pl/index.php?v=en
The border is open in both directions.
As far as I know, things are normal in Poland and Belarus.

If you have a US passport: meet your fiancee at Vilnius or Bialystok or forget it.

Hard to imagine "things are normal in Poland" https://freepolicybriefs.org/2022/03...ees-in-poland/

Take care if you cross the border into Belarus

Can she get herself out to go to Germany, or another country nearby? You could meet her there, rather than going into Belarus.

Ya know . . . Maybe (just maybe) this isn't s serious question ;) -- what with the date of the OP and him not returning.
