going to athens- when to buy tix?

i'm going to a wedding in athens, greece in june and have been checking out the airfare prices now. they are a lot more than i thought they would be. i'm hoping the prices will drop if i check back later. how far in advance should i be buying them to get a reasonable price?
thanks.

Buy now. The closer it gets to June the higher the price will be. Cheaper tickest went on sale late last year and prices have already jumped $200-300.

Another vote for buying it now. I bought mine at the end of December and the price has already gone up by several hundred dollars. I doubt very much that the price will decrease for June since it's high season.

ESPECIALLY with the high costs of fuel.

thanks for the input. but the cheapest rate i'm seeing now is still $1000. is that the best i'm going to get?

That same ticket probably cost $800 in December. The longer you wait the more expensive it will become. Of course there's always a slim chance you will find a special offering somewhere. Do you want to risk it?

Buy now. We already bought our tickets to Athens for July because we wanted a direct flight from JFK. We didn't want to risk having multiple flights/layovers. We didn't care how much the tickets were, we wanted the convenience.
