The majority of trains from Civitavecchia to Rome are locals and the trip takes about an hour..that's just to get to termini.

With only three hours to get to the airport (or is that three hours before the scheduled departure?) I personally, would consider a different mode of travel.

BTW, Nicolino, be aware that the train station in Civitavecchia is about a 10-15 minute walk from the entrance of the port area; your cruise ship will probably be docked further on so you'll need transportation to the station if you have luggage I would supsect. Please consider the additional time that may take.

If you go by train get off at Rome Ostiense and transfer to airport trains (maybe Trastevere before Ostiense - can't remember if this is on the aiport line) and your total fare would be about $10 i think

but as Dukey says this takes quite a while by train.

Sandi...

I knowyou are trying to be helpful....

but that "easy ten-minute walk" is not quite the same with luggage..and that walk is only from the port entrance.

Your link does absolutely nothing to address the question of given the time constraints whether or not the OP should attempt this at all.

And please don't forget, trains to Rome only leave periodically so there's a potential for even more lost time.

Dukey, you are correct. I did not read the original post correctly. I read it as needing ot know how to get to the termini, not the airport. The link I provided does give them the termini information. Sorry for the confusion.
