God Bless the Brits!

Tony Blair once again demonstrated that Great Britain is the United States' most staunch ally and friend. We in the U.S. couldn't ask or hope for more. Since WWII the English people have always been there for us in our time of need and never forgot that we were there for them, and will be in the future.

A heartfelt thanks to our friends in all of the United Kingdom.

God Save the Queen.

Yes, I agree. Thanks to all British people for your support. They are good friends to the U.S. Tony Blair's presence was very appreciated.
Lots of pundits in UK often have argues whether or not the special relationship between USA and UK still exists, particularly now we are in the European Union. The recent dreadful terrorism in NY has certainly demonstrated that we are indeed two nations separated only by a pond and that we have a very close connection. When the Queen attended the memorial service at St Pauls she was seen to be shedding a tear. This is something we have never seen before from our Monarch. She has to keep a stiff upper lip, but like all of us she is very much affected.
God bless America and let us stand together in the challenging times ahead.I saw a poll this week which reported over 70% of Brits.in favour UK govt. policy over terrorism and that we should support USA in an effort to defeat it.

I have always loved British people.. and been a big fan of Mr. Blair.. confession: My husband and I used to order pizza and watch British Parliment on Sunday afternoons! Thanks as always to our friends in the UK for their support and our hearts go out to you for we know that you have lost loved ones as well.

Oops that's Britain. Sorry about that typo!

to xxx.

I don't want to knock the Brits, as I basically agree with all of the above. However a slight correction is called for. I don't recall the British being with you in Vietnam. However the Aussies were, and were the first to support you this time, so I think we deserve at least an honourable mention.

I full heartedly thank all the Americans, British, Australians and all other countries that will completely give their support to the United States against all cowardly terrorist murderers worldwide. We will conquer and destroy them, together as one.

I am sorry, I almost forgot to thank Germany for her support.

Tony Blair was her in New York the other day. You could see the horror and shock on his face. He is a true, loyal friend to all Americans. God bless all our friends around the world but especially the British who always have the courage to do the right thing.

As an American it is overwhelming to feel, hear, and see the outpouring of support from around the world. It is all greatly appreciated and heartfelt. Thank you.
Let us not forget the Canadians in our list of true friends.

linda

I couldn't agree more!
I have heard so many touching stories about the British people from a few freinds who just returned.
Their warmth and freindship to us is truly a blessing!!
I think the people of England and Scotalnd are the best....can't wait to return....especially to my freinds in York, England

Regarding Tony's comment (above) that the Brits weren't with us in Viet Nam, as a veteran of that political and military debacle, I would say that Britain's noninvolvement demonstrates common sense and good judgment. There was never a bona fide reason for us to be in Nam and no reason for Great Britain to follow a fool. Plus I'm not sure they were ever asked. (Were they?)

I should add to my comment just above about Britain, that the support we received from Australia, a resident of the region with interests at stake, was very welcome and very appreciated.
On a lighter note, I especially enjoyed partying with the officers of the Australian destroyer Brisbane. We literally burned the O-club down that night in Subic Bay! Hell of a bunch of drinkers, those Aussies!!!
