Globus

Has anyone been on the Globus tour London and Country?

Not that one, but we did their 28-day Great Britain and Ireland trip, and it was wonderful. Our guide was a former history teacher, and he was fabulous. No way could I have learned ahead of time all that he told us.

It was a survey-type trip of the kind many people don't care for, but it gave me a taste of the places I would like to go back to and spend more time. For instance, I preferred Cornwell to the Cotswolds, and that is something so personal that there isn't any way you could know ahead of time.

My husband has had heart surgery and doesn't like to drive in countries (we are from the U.S.) that he is not familiar with, so tours suit him best. I love London and have been several times. The tour just gave a brief overview of the city but enough to whet your appetite for a longer stay on your own.

Been with Globus and had a great time, but also check out Insight and Trafalgar, IMHO they have a slight rdge on Globus.

My husband and I went on a Globus England countyside that also included Scotland in 1989. It was great. Very well organized, great hotels, great food and also a great tour guide. We would go on another again.
