Glasgow to Rosslyn Chapel-what to see?

We will be staying in the Glasgow area for a week and plan to take a drive one day to Rosslyn Chapel. Can anyone make suggestions as to what else will be worth a stop on the way to and from to see? Are there any distilleries on the way?
Thank you.

The "Glasgow area" is quite large. Do you mean IN Glasgow, or NW or NE or SE or ??

It makes a difference re the route one would take to get to Roslin/Rosslyn Chapel. Also - are you planning on driving over to Edinburgh one day? If so - it might make more sense to visit Roslin a day you are doing Edinburgh

But in general the area between Glasgow and Roslin is not an area w/ distilleries.

I enjoyed visiting the Edinburgh Crystal factory. I wound up on the VIP tour, which I highly recommend - we got to blow a small bubble of glass, and make some cuts. However, I can't tell from the website - http://www.edinburgh-crystal.co.uk/?...=visitorcentre - whether it's still offered.

New Lanark is definitely worth a visit.

They went bust a few years ago

As for "what to see", try Linlithgow Palace

Roslyn is stunning on a sunny day but will be a stop, not an all day event. Why not go to Roslyn first and Edinburgh on the way back.

Rosslyn just blew us away! We spent an entire morning listening to the tour guide, going up onto the scaffolding and afterwards looking around the grounds.

After that we hit the road for the Falkirk Wheel - an amazing afternoon!

The only distillery within striking distance of Roslin is Glenkinchie. It welcomes visitors.

But there may be somewhere better closer to your Glasgow base. Can you give us more information as to where that is?

For a nice day trip combine Rosslyn with New Lanark and route back through the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel. It'll keep you busy and a nie contrast of old and new.
