Glasgow, Inverness, Edinburgh & Manchester

WANTED: Recommendations for pubs and clubs and restaurants. Not too dear, not too touristy. Used to NYC standards. Impress me!

Sadly, the NYC standards - as everyone worldwide knows - are untouchable. Your dream of visiting places (in foreign countries of all places) that surpass those standards is in vain I fear. You should cancel your trip; afterall, you are from the apex of the universe so why set out seeking something which will only let you down in the long run.

Nowhere in Glasgow is touristy.
If you like New Yorkers you'll like the Glaswegians once you get used to the intimidating accent.
Its the biggest of these 4 places & offers by far the widest choice.
At the newsstand buy magazines "the List" - Glasgow & Edinburgh whatson, pub, club live music listings, and "M8"
Scottish/UK clubbing.
Try the 13th Note, King St, (city centre near Trongate)) to start off.(not to be confused with club of same name & management in Clyde St.)
King Street is good for galleries, buying prints & ceramics cheap.(no tourists)
