Giverny in October

Will be in France for 2 weeks in October.
Anyone visited these gardens in the Fall? Is it worth a visit at this time of year?
Thanks

Yes, I went there in early October one year and loved it. The weather was still of the Indian summer variety with a breeze and quite enjoyable. We spent nearly the whole day exploring the gardens and Monet's home with very few other people around.

Like Huitres says the suffocating crowds of summer likely won't be there in October so even though some of the bloom has falled off the gardens, the whole experience could be much better - and when i was there one October there were still plenty of flowers - and some fauna, such as the famed water lilies, should be the same as in summer.

Lilies are fauna? Do they bite?

:) (Palenquebob - best leave the flora/fauna to others and stick to train info)

We have visited in October. The gardens were interesting (though not colorful) and the waterlily pond was beautiful, but we thought Monet's house was the most interesting aspect of the place.
