Girona - most charming hotel??

Hi, I've read about Hotel Historic, and it looks great, but I'm just wondering if there are any others like it? Also, upon booking, it gives the room cost, but then also lists the breakfast cost as $12...but its not actually added into the total. Are they just letting you know how much it is and that it's not included, or required?

There's nothing like the Hotel Historic in Gerona. Each apartment is very different and I remember breakfast was separate. You have a choice of paying for breakfast at the Hotel or going out and walking down into town. There are a lot of place to have breakfast and many pastry shops as well. Gerona was a memorable place.......very friendly..........

Thanks! I figured it was the best of its kind, but I just wanted to be sure before I booked it. Glad to hear we can choose our own breakfast if we want. Depending on what time we leave on our last day, we may want to pick something else up. BUT, they said they only had one twin room left and that is perfect for me and my friend...so I booked it! Yeah!

The breakfast is extra but not required as dragon88 says. If you have one of the apartments, you can buy food at the store to eat for breakfast.

Their breakfast is very good - they will make you eggs to order.

Can anyone tell me the best way to get to the Hotel Historic from the train station? Taxi? Cost?

Speaking of cabs - the Hotel Historic is on a hill. If you get tired one night and don't want to walk back up, there is a cab stand close to Plaza del Independencia on the new side of town. I buy wine in a place down there and take a cab back up so I don't have to carry it :)

LOL, good to know! It might be good to buy in bulk ;)
