Girona Flower Festival
 

My friend and I will be in Barcelona for 10 days in May. We'd like to go to the Girona flower festival. Has anyone been? It seems we can travel there in about an hour by train. The after dark displays look lovely but not sure they'd be worth staying over nite. We were hoping to do day trips only from Barcelona, but not sure if we should change plans and stay a night or two in Girona. Comments on festival? Advice?

To my great regret, I have not been in Girona for its flower festival. If I had the chance, I would jump on the opportunity! FWIW, I found more than enough to keep me happily busy in Girona for 2 days. YMMV.

We stayed in Girona for 2 nights and loved it. I highly recommend staying overnight. It’s a lovely and interesting city!
