Is it difficult to get through customs in Gibraltar? What is the average time it takes? Thank you!

It all depends on how awkward the Spanish border guards have been instructed to be. If it's high season then it can take an hour or two, or just minutes when it's not too busy. When are you thinking of visiting?

Are you talking on foot or by car? On foot, it's a breeze. By car, they slow you down, but I have no idea how long it takes on average.

Gibraltar is very quirky and not recommended unless you have considerable time to visit other parts of Spain or you have been Spain before.

As noted above, the amount of time at the frontier with a car depends on that day's relationship between Spain and England. And when you do gain entry, you will drive across the only airstrip, so look both ways.

I've been to Gibraltar twice, didn't really need to go the second time but my parents wanted some guidance so I accompanied them. Both occasions I parked on the Spanish side and crossed the border on foot. It just takes minutes however if attempting to cross by car expect very long queues

Wonder how Brexit may affect Gibraltar and border crossings?

The future will be the same for all issues relating to Brexit.

Absolutely nobody knows.

It's like Swindon in Spain

I actually like Gibraltar; I've been a couple of times and I enjoy its quirkiness and its undoubted historical significance. The first time, driving into Spain was a major PITA - took a couple of hours during a "go slow" by the Spanish; the second time was a breeze - a few seconds and badda bing.

It's a curious place, culturally. I swear there are more Jews in Gibraltar than in the rest of Spain (not true, but feels like it) and there's a giant honking mosque evidently built by the Saudis and designed to be seen from Morocco. Cool lighthouse, and apes too!

As long as we're posting photos, here's what it looks like when you cross by foot (note the cars waiting in line)

Lol, I always describe it as being like England in the 80's but not in a good way.
