Ghent vs Brugge
Hey everyone!
Just want to quickly check - I have already booked a place in a lovely B&B in Ghent that comes highly recommended on the forums, but now I have recently read that there are a lot of construction work in Ghent at the moment. I have found a nice place in Brugge as well and just want to know which town you would recommend?
I have been to both before and each town has a particular charm, so it's literally just a case of construction work that is bothering me. We will in any case be going to both towns. Our dates are 19-22 September.
Thanks
M

Have you been to both before, or have you stayed in both before? I would personally pick Brugge, as I think it's absolutely magical at night when most of the day tripping tourists have left. The buildings along the canals are lit up and are beautiful.

The construction works were supposed to be finished by the start of the Gentse Feesten. They started last Saturday, the 17th. I haven't been there myself but a friend of mine living near Gent confirmed that the roadworks have indeed been finished.
