Yes. A quick look at google for Belgian trains, then www.b-rail.be > select English > travelling in Belgium > Practical Info > Station Facilities > search for Gent-Sint-Pieters reveals it all.

YES. We were there 2 months ago and this is what I wrote in my trip report:
"Once we arrived at St Pieters station in Ghent, we stored our luggage at the lockers. IIRC, there are 3 sizes and the medium size is big enough to store our 2 rollaboards (€3,50 for up to 72 hours)."
BTW, our 2 rollaboards were: 19" and 22" in dimension

Thanks to both of you-- this is awesome and really helpful! And now I know I'll be able to jump off the train in Ghent if I'm feeling like it.
What was your impression of the town, Yk? Is it worth a stop on my way from Bruges to Brussels?

I like Flemish art, so of course I think Ghent is worth a stop! I have been there twice before by myself, but on our recent trip, I made sure we stopped there so that my husband (who has never been there before) could admire the Ghent Altarpiece.
Here's my trip report on France and Belgium (Bruges, Ghent, Brussels) from Sept 2008 if you're interested:

I have often been in Gent and it is a very nice town - not like Bruges however, where the inner town is a virtual museum town
Gent is more a vibrant regional workaday town with however an area of neat canals, etc. like Bruges has much more of
Gent also of course has the art-ful Cathedral and neighboring Castle of the Counts of Gent. Climb the church bell tower for a sweet look at how a medieval town swirls around the cathedral.
The Castle has a torture chamber in it and Gent even has an Amsterdam-like redlight district in the old sailor's quarter north of the town center (this area is also a vibrant ethnic area of Moslem residents)
Gent is a center of professional bike racers and there are some bike shops, like Plum's, that specialize in the latest gimmicks.
