Getting to Stockton-on-Tees or Yarm from Heathrow

Jump to last reply

I am wondering if anyone can tell me the easiest way to get to Yarm or Stockton-on-Tees from Heathrow airport. I had hoped that there would be a quick, direct flight to Durham Teeside Airport as I will have my elderly mother with me.

I will be renting a car once I'm up north, as I don't really want to drive there right after getting off the plane from Canada, but it doesn't appear that I can get a direct flight.

My mother can walk. However, I'll be picking up a rental a wheelchair at Heathrow for her to use for the month we're away. I don't see how I can manage her, the chair and our luggage on the train.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
