getting to pisa airport??
 

We are staying at a villa near a small town called Montecarlo which is about 10-15km east of Lucca. My parents are going to be with us, but they are leaving on an early flight out of Pisa Airport and need to be at the airport by 6am.

We will have one vehicle between us and I don't really want to drive to Pisa airport that early if I don't have to. Is there another way for my parents to get to the airport that morning? I know there is a bus from Lucca to the Pisa Airport, and I thought about driving them to Lucca where they could catch the bus, but I don't know if it runs that early. I haven't been able to find anything on bus service to the small town of Montecarlo.

You're willing to get up earlier, drive them 1/2 way to Pisa and dump them at Lucca bus station, then drive back so you can get back to bed?

Get your sorry butt out of bed and drive them to the airport.

Evidently memories has absolutely no memory of anything his/her parents have ever done for him/her. I was appalled reading this and let out a big cheer when I read J62's reply. Get up, take your parents to the airport and stop whinning. I can't believe you would even consider anything else.

I know...I know. The other issue is I will have a 5 and 7 year old with me and I'd have to get them up and take them as well. If it was just me, there would be no problem. I'm up at 5am every day.

I just wanted to find out if there were other options. My parents have said they would prefer we don't have to get the kids out of bed so early so I'm just trying to find out the options.

maybe you could all do an excursion to pisa the day before and get them a nearby hotel so they can take a cab in the morning?

might take some stress off this early flight.

remember.. there can be serious FOG in italy early morning certain times of year. we had to postpone leaving towards milan from pisa area once because of it.

luckily our flight wasn´t until the afternoon, but the hotel warned us to wait until the fog burned off.

I agree with Lincasanova. I'm sure you were planning to take your kids there anyway.

Bus from train station Pisa goes straight to airport (biked behind it yesterday).

Is train station anygood for you to get to?
