Getting to Clausthal-Zellerfeld Germany

During our European stay I would like to get to Clausthal-Zellerfeld, near Hannover, where my German gg grandfather came from. Does anyone know what this town is like, much to see there? And what would be the best way to get there, coming from Brussels? Thanks for any hints.

A simple "Google" search will bring up lots of info. C-Z is in the Harz Mountains - a very picturesque part of Germany with lots to see and do. However, there is no train service to C-Z so consider taking the train to Goslar and then bus it to C-Z or better yet rent a car and explore this delightful area. Also "Google" Harz tourism for more info on the area The train from Brussels will require 7-9 hours and numerous changes.

Thanks, Charlie, will do. Wonder if there's a quicker way to get there? Fly from Brussels to Hannover then train to Goslar then bus to C-Z?

Lufthansa has 3 flights on weekdays from Brussels to Hannover (1 hour). From there you can take the train to Goslar, but I would strongly recommend that you hire a car and drive to C-Z. The beauty of this area is in the rural countyside and the picturesque small towns and villages, much better enjoyed with the freedom of a car. Do go! I am sure you will be impressed by the beauty of this area of Germany

OK, Charlie, you've convinced me!
