getting to Asolo by train
 

is it possible? can't find in the italian train web how to get there.

We took a train to Bassano de Grappa from Vinice and then a bus to Asolo.

We talked to the reservations agent at the Venice train station a few days before we went because we couldn't find out anything about trains to Asolo either.

From Venice, Castelfranco is a little closer (and a cheaper cab ride)to Asolo than is Bassano del Grappa.

Hello poo, I have friends that live in Asolo. The son lives in Milan during the week as he works in Milan. Most Friday nights he takes the train home. He gets off the train at the station in Castlefranco. Either a family member picks him up or he takes the taxi to Asolo.

Poo - An alternative to the bus route from Bassano is bus from Treviso.

Be aware that the bus doesn't go into Asolo itself, but drops off on the main road below at Ca' Vescovo.

Asolo is really one of those places in Italy that you need a car to get to-absent a car, (or have you considered a day tour, that will get you there by a van? ) I believe the easiest route is train to Bassano, and then bus to Asolo, but that can be a little fatiguing, because you have to walk aways from the Bassano train station to the bus terminal, and there's not a lot of helpful information at the bus terminal-at least that was my experience, but it is doable that way.
