Your apartment is in an excellent location for sightseeing in Rome, but not in a good location for the metro. It would be about a 20-30 minute walk from the nearest metro stop.
If you want to do this by public transit, you could take the bus from Termini, but I don't know the best one to suggest.

Bus #46 goes from Termini to the Vatican, and travels along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, which is more or less parallel to Via Pelligrino one block away.
There may be other buses too, but #46 should work. Taxi won't be that expensive either.

Agree with WillTravel that your apt. is in an excellent location for walking to all the tourist sights.
Rome is unlike many other cities in that if you are close to the subway (which had to avoid the old center for archeological reasons) then you are NOT in a convenient location. I know this seems like a contradiction, but you shouldn't worry. You're apt. is perfectly located.
And, yes, just take the #64 bus from the train station or (if you have more lots of luggage) just spend 5 Euro and take a taxi.`
