getting to airport from Budapest?

I'm looking at a flight on Wizzair that is scheduled to leave the Budapest Ferighey airport at 6am on 18 May. We are staying at this hostel in town (http://www.friendshostel.hu/), and I want to make sure it isn't going to be too much of a pain to get there in time. Does anyone have experience with getting to the airport from the city? Any suggestions for making such an early flight? Thanks for your help!

See if the hostel will call for a cab. I used a cab several times in Budapest and it was always very reasonably priced. I always had the hotel call for one though--I read in the guidebooks that was the way to make sure you weren't ripped off.

See www.bud.hu/english/transport and www.airportshuttle.hu/angol.html, but that early you'll probably have to pre-arrange a taxi. Have you considered sleeping in the airport? See sleepinginairports.com for info. and reviews.

Zóna Taxi have the sole rights to pick up at the airport taxi rank -- you can see that from thursdaysd's first link. They offer a flat rate from the city to Ferihegy which is a bit cheaper. Last year it was 3,500Ft; it pays them because they are assured that they can get a return fare. The "going rate" among other operators is 5,000Ft.

You will find Zóna's number on the airport website.
