Getting married in Positano

I am planning to get married in Positano Italy in August 2010. Has anyone gotten married there? I have started preliminary email correspondence with someone from the www.weddingitaly.com website.. anyone use this site and their services before? We are both American, so we'Il have a lot of travel arrangements to book!
We would like to have a civil town hall ceremony or a small chapel ceremony. I am Catholic but my fiance is not, so I'm not sure if that can happen. If not, a town hall or outdoor ceremony will be just fine.
We would like to keep everything (ceremony, reception, hotel guests) close so we don't have to have to take transportation everywhere. We are planning on having about 20-25 guests.
If anyone can respond and tell me about their own or someone's wedding they attended here I would appreciate it!
Thank you..

I think in Italy you need to have a civil ceremony even if you have a religious one as well.

eks, I could swear that there was a wedding planned in Positano with lots of posts more recently than 2005. I too did a search and came up with the same posts you did, but it sure seems like there should be more. I remember that the mother was debating between Sireneuse and St. Pietro and that they had their rehearsal dinner at Pallazo Murat. Somehow that should still be here. Anyone else remember all that?

Hi Julie, I know, I guess it doesn't matter when the post was, but I'd like some more recent information..I've done some more research and it looks like we will definitely be having a town hall ceremony. Now I'm torn between Ravello and Positano. Villa Cimbrone in Ravello looks amazing, but it also looks like it would be very expensive!

Insofar as a venue is concerned the Hotel Il San Pietro named after the chapel at road level .Truly wonderful and a fabulous venue to stay / reception etc .

Julie: I remember it vaguely, but could not find with a very quick search..

Villa Cimbrone is spectacular!

This page has lots of very detailed information about getting married that might help you with your planning! It's focus is on Tuscany, but I think it would be helpful-
