Getting from Ronda to Seville: bus or train?

I am travelling in Andalusia in September and need to know the best way to travel from Ronda to Seville - the train seems to involve a change and to take a long time. Has anyone used a bus for this trip? Does it need to be booked in advance?
Appreciate any help

According to Movelia, there are only two buses each day from Ronda to Sevilla via Jerez.

Hi, Janine~

We took a Los Amarillos bus (going the opposite direction) from Seville to Ronda last year. http://www.losamarillos.es/index.jsp (Site is in Spanish, but you can figure out the schedule pretty easily.) There are definitely several buses a day, going each way.

It was super simple -- a nice comfy, modern bus, no change required (it did not stop in Jerez) and great scenery along the way. We took one of the faster buses, it only took 2 hours. From what I remember, there were several buses that day, but only a couple were 2 hour trips. Ours left Seville at 4 pm, arrived in Ronda at 6 pm. I imagine the schedule would be similar in the other direction.

We bought our tickets the day before we traveled at the bus station in Seville. The bus was crowded (this was in February), so I'd definitely recommend buying them ahead of time (day before) and getting there about 20 minutes before departure to make sure you have a good seat. We sat in the very front so we had a great view of the landscape along the way.

Have a great trip, we really loved Ronda.

Forgot to say, on the above web site, click on "Comprar Billetes" and choose Ronda and Sevilla from the pull down menu to see the schedule for the day you'd like to travel. You'll see many buses listed.

I second the recommendation for the bus - very easy, inexpensive, and there are usually quite a few per day. I did Sevilla - Ronda as a day trip, returning to Sevilla in the evening. As I recall the one-way trip takes about 2 hours.

Here's a web with the timetable, as you may see, there are many options:

Best thing is to check the bus company website: www.losamarillos.es or at Ronda bus station (everyplace in Ronda is walking distance).
