Getting from Prague to Normandy - need help!!
 

Hi:
I'm having difficulty finding the best way (or any way at all!) to get from Prague to Normandy.

We need to be in Normandy (Caen where we'll be renting a car) on May 1 and the only option I've found is a flight that leaves Prague around 6:55pm and arrives in Paris at 8:30. Then we'd have to get to the train station to get to Caen. This would get us into Normandy around midnight and it seems that there must be a better way.

Any help is much appreciated.

Assume you are speaking of the SmartWings 6:55 PM departure.

Alternatives that come to mind and I realize thse may not be acceptable but anyway:

Get yourself to Berlin by train and fly on EasyJet to Paris although you might have to go to Berlin the night before.

Take the overnight rail service from Prague to Cologne and change there for the service into Paris which would get you there before noon.

Hopefully others will have better ideas.

www.whichbudget.com shows a 2:10 pm flight from Vienna that would get you to CDG at 4:10.You should be able to get a train to Vienna from Prague that would enable you to make that flight, I should think, and then you'd most likely be able to get to Normandy within another 4 hours or so.
