Getting from Cambridge to Edinburgh

I will be in Cambridge in early January and want to go from there to Edinburgh. Which London area airport would be easiest to fly from?

Thanks in advance.

Flying doesn't make too much sense for that journey. You can take the train in about 4.5 or 5 hours city centre to city centre w/o having to travel to an airport and hassle early check in.

Alternatively, go to Stansted, which is near Cambridge and hop a low cost to Edinburgh.

I agree with Sheila....Stansted is half and hour down the motorway from Cambridge...Luton is around one hour away.

Thanks for the suggestions. I got a cheap flight on easyJet from Stansted. A few years ago I was in England in December and the wet weather had the trains at a standstill.

On the subject of trains, you can travel by train from Cambridge to Stansted or catch the airport bus there from the city centre.
