Getting Czech Koruny in London, Vienna or Prague
 

Need advice on best place (read: cheap - good rates and low commission) to get Czech currency. I'm from Southeast Asia and CSZ is not widely available here.

I'll be travelling through London, Vienna before heading to Prague. I'll have Euro and British pounds with me. I am considering using my ATM card ( through Maestro, Cirrus, Plus network - are ATMs in Czech Rep linked to these networks?). But would like to have some CSZ in hand as well as I enter the country.

Suggestions are much appreciated!

The larger Marks & Spencer in London have a travel booth with currency exchange; and it has "reasonable" rates. Last year I exchanged for some Hungarian forint there.

M&S usually have the best rates and I have been able to get CzK there in the past no problem.I would suggest that you use the ATMs,there are several at the airport and of course lots about the city,they give by far the best exchange rate even taking into consideration ATM and bank charges.
You will have no problem using maestro or Cirrus cards in Prague,don't know about the Plus network.

I've used an ATM card that was on the PLUS network in Prague with no trouble.

If you are flying into PRague, you can just get it at the airport with no problem (the airport in Prague). They have lots of exchange booths which actually give decent rates (better than you'll get in London, that's for sure), as well as some ATMs. I don't remember about the train station.

The exchange rates in the UK are lousy compared to what you get here (in CZ). In Brno, there are lots of small exchange offices run by Iraqis. They offer better rates than the banks and I've never had a problem with them at all.
