getting around in burgundy

Hi all,

As non-drivers, I am wondering whether it is possible to spend a quiet week around Beaune in Burgundy next summer without a car and still see the best of the area? We are looking to base ourselves in Beaune and do day trips to adjoining areas by train/bus/bike??

Thanks
Michael

Hi M,

See http://www.voyages-sncf.com for train schedules and prices from Beaune to Dijon, Lyon, Auxerre and Lausanne and Geneva.

PS,

Have you considered staying in Dijon and visiting Beaune from there?

Much better train connections from Dijon.

Hi, as you're quite new on fodors, maybe you didn't see all the answers you had on your previous posting.
