Getting around from Chamonix
We will be in Chamonix for 5 days starting next week. I have always had trouble figuring out train connections in the area. Tried to go to Megeve on a day trip and wound up stuck in St. Gervais. Just read a post mentioning Sallanches and looked up train routes to get there--which included Megeve and left me thinking I would wind up with a similar problem if I tried to go to Sallanche.. Can anyone with knowledge of the area help me understand the logistics of day tripping there? I'd really appreciate it. I'd also appreciate any suggestions for other day trips. Thanks.
