Fung Shing is my favourite Chinese restaurant in London. It was introduced to me by a colleague who loves his food and travels a lot. I have not been there in about 4 years and it was delicious last time. I trust any restaurant he sends me too.

Chinese is just pretty awful still in Dublin I miss real Chinese food. Sounds like a great trip. I must go over again for a weekend.

It makes me wonder what I've been doing during all my trips to London. I guess I really don't know this city that well.

Ger- I think London is the 2nd and last stop of the Caravaggio exhibit. I don't know of any websites that list traveling exhibitions. And don't worry, I'll post a trip report when I return. It probably will be another long and obsessive-compulsive one. I don't know if you like 17th-century Dutch genre paintings, but I'm going to this exhibit at the Queen's Gallery. 10 days and counting!

I think London is the second, and final, stop for the Caravaggio exhibit. I don't know of a site for traveling exhibits, but this is a good site to check for museums/exhibits in European cities. Unfortunately they don't list the museums' websites but they are easy enough to find via Google.

Hi Siobhan: The very best Chinese food in Dublin is cooked in my sister’s kitchen in Castleknock :) We don’t do too badly at the Good World as my BIL has know them for many years. He just tells them what he wants and they cook him anything he fancies. As you well know, there is a world of difference in the food when you order from the Chinese menu. But, that having been said, there is NO comparison to the quality in big cities like London and Toronto. He visited us in Toronto a couple of years ago and we brought him to a couple of good Chinese restaurants and he thought he had died and gone to heaven.

111op: As I said, like you I have neglected London for several years and I won’t do it again! The V&A is definitely worth a visit. It is by far the most eclectic collection of bric-a-brac I have every seen!
