Germany/Austria July 15-22
We are planning on flying into Salzburg and staying at the Mondi-Holiday in Bad Gastein. We have a week there and will use that as our base for the week. That doesn't mean that we have to necessarily stay there every night. I'd love to hear suggestions as to day trips, overnights, etc. Thanks!

Munich is two hours away and on the "Bavaria Pass" for the train. It's about an hour and a half by car to Hallstadt. Berteschesgaden is about 15 miles away. Where have you been before and what are your interests?

We haven't been there before..... Just trying to see as much as we can in that amount of time. Definitely want to see Berchtesgaden....What is in Hallstadt? We'd probably like to see the castles, as well as Vienna. Don't know if that's "biting off more than we can chew" in a week. Also, Dachau is a point of interest. Trying to decide is really tough just with those things.... what are some other things that I haven't considered?????
