PhillyFan, I will come back later to read more, but, those factory robots could have been the inspiration for The Terminator (ok, ok, I know that movie is pretty old and pre-dates such sophistication). I'd hate to be stuck overnight in that factory and have them all come on. Fascinating to watch them do their dance. I liked watching the cars get painted.

Wish you would have asked for some hotel recommendations for Frankfurt. Could have pointed you to some lovely B&B type places with A/C, on leafy, cool, residential streets, but with easy access to the train station.

Frankfurt has its' share of historical gems, but you have to search for them a bit, they don't jump out at you.

flygril - I liked the painting part, too, and yes, some of them looked very human-like! It was freaky how some of them moved.

Mainhattengirl - I wish that, too, and I should have. I have gotten some terrific hotel recommendations from this forum. I book all ours this time with tripadvisor and booking.com. Booking.com helped me find quad rooms - and I did locate our Bernau hotel there, which was a fun find.

Our place in Cochem was just eh, and I'm sure I could have done much better there. Your places sound wonderful and I will ask next time!
