The round funnel cake looking things that you see everywhere, I am sure your teens will want to try them but if you are curious, just take a bite of theirs. I threw mine away, lol.
Thanks for the tip about the funnel cake! I will remember this for sure!

I remain puzzled by your itinerary, as it seems to me that you are on an extremely fast-paced schedule, one that could mean a LOT of time in transportation relative to the time you actually have to see / do anything in the places between which you are dashing. JMO.

Yes, it does seem a little fast paced. I am looking at making Nuremburg just one night so I have an extra night in Munich so maybe we can see a little more in that area. Luckily I have a few months to continue to research and adjust our itinerary.

Has anyone used the transportation company mydaytrip.com? It might give us an easier and quicker way to to get from Prague to Nuremburg (instead of the train) with even a stop along the way. Thoughts on quick stops at either Karlsteijn Castle, Amberg or Kladrubsky Monastery?

Thanks!

If you're going to cut Nuremburg to one night, then you could maybe consider visiting as a day trip, leaving early in the morning and returning late at night? I dislike one night stops because of the overheads of moving hotels.

That's what I am thinking now. I could add those nights to Munich so we have more time to explore in and around Munich. Is Nuremburg rushed if we do it as a day trip? I have read that Nuremburg is wonderful at night after all the day tourists leave - that is one of the things that makes me want to stay up there for a night.

Of your four proposed stops, which one is your least favourite? Which one would you be most likely to return to on another trip, and could therefore leave to another time? Maybe you should ditch Salzburg? It's so hard making these choices and compromises. And that's the case no matter how long you have for your holiday. If you want to explore Nuremburg at night and don't want to catch a late train back to Munich, then that's probably a good enough reason to have a stop there rather than a day trip.

Although many people dislike one-night stays, not all of us do! They don't bother me at all, so I include one-nights stays in my itineraries whenever they suit my purposes.
