Germany, Here I Come!
Hello Wonderful Fodorites,
I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone. Today, I have booked my flight to Germany with British Airways, and dang it felt good! I'm so excited about my trip. I can't wait until I get to see everything Germany has to offer. Plus I'll be going to France, Austria, and Italy too. Now my boyfriend's family might even show me around London! I'm very excited about all of this. Fodorites, you have any tips for teenage travelers going to Europe for the first time? I would surely appreciate it. Thanks for you time. :) |
Hast du viel Deutsch gelernt seit letzte Sommer, als du bist erst hergekommen?
Wenn nicht, gibt es immer heute. Ich hoffe dass du wird viel Spass haben. Gute Reise, Rex |
Lovin- glad your dream trip will soon be a reality! I am sure you will have a wonderful time. I await with interest your reply to Rex. Please be careful, however, of your choice of "du" or "Sie" as I just read that a politician was recently fined for addressing a policeman with "du" and therefor desrespectful! I am sure they will cut you much more slack. Give us a report on your return.

Is there a German equivalent of the French word tutoyer (to address as "tu")?
Nous tutoyons tout le monde ici - - nous sommes tous famille, non? |
I translated it online, even though I could have asked the Austrian girl I am hosting. I think you asked me if I have learned any German? I have a little bit. Not very much though because I'm afraid I haven't found the time to learn. I will make time though. The Austrian girl my family and I are hosting said she will gladly teach me the basic necessities.
I should probably have a very long trip report for all of you when I return back home. I am leaving June 7 and returning on July 31. While I am there, we will be visiting France, Austria, possibly Italy, and possibly Great Britain. Thanks for all the tips on finding airfares. I appreciate it a lot. |
