My husband and I have been invited to Munich for Oktoberfest. We met a couple on our honeymoon 2 years ago in Bora Bora who live there. They are taking the week 9/27-10/8 off to spend with us. They asked us to create a wish list of things to do! Any suggestions would be most appreciated!! They are also taking us to their friend's wedding in Bonn. I look forward to any responses!

Number One would be to see the Bavarian Alps area. Berchtesgaden, Salzburg, Garmisch, etc. This is a must.

Agree completely with traveldawg. Since you will be so close to the Alps, that is where you should spend your time.

We spent 3 wks in Germany and Austria last September-October and it was a beautiful time of year.

Also try to visit the Salzkammergut area. Beautiful lakes, towns, great fish dishes. Halstatt is the "postcard" picture town. Here's a link to my photo album. I have a review under this screen name at www.epinions as well.
