Germany- ANY way to find pet-free rooms? (Asthma)
Hi Fodorites!
I am having one heck of a time booking a room that doesn't allow pets in most areas we plan to travel to in Germany this coming Sept. Does anyone have any helpful hints to finding them? I have spent a BUNCH of time emailing hotels. Does someone know how likely it is to find some pet-free rooms reserved in hotels that show "pets allowed" on their websites? The cities we still need to book are: Bingen or Boppard (or any place along this stretch of the Rhine) Freiberg Munich Plus 2 nights somewhere between Freiberg and Salzberg (over and back along southern Germany border to Switz., Liechtenstein, and/or Austria. (No set plans for these nights as of yet.) Thanks for any help you can offer! |
My son and I both have asthma - but our issue is mostly cats. We stayed at Hotel Uhland in Munich and really enjoyed it and had no issues with our asthma. They do allow pets but also have allergy free rooms where no pets are allowed. More info on their website about allergy free rooms:

I would have thought that most hotels would allow pets only in certain rooms. Good luck.

Freiberg, SN (Saxony) or Freiburg, BW
Salzburg, Salzburg (Austria)? |
I'd contact the local tourist information offices (google to find them) and ask for recommendations about hotels that offer rooms for guests with allergies, those guys know.
By the way, are you sure you want Freiberg? The town is absolutely worthwhile, but it rarely receives attention among posters here. From the rest of the destinations you are listing, I'd rather assume it is Freiburg you want to visit. Freiberg is in Saxony close to the Czech border. Arriving in a place and finding out that your hotel is 8 hours away might be an unpleasant surprise... Ditto for "Salzberg", usually known as Salzburg. |
Freiburg*
Salzburg* Sorry :) |
