lauren - the OP is almost finished with the trip and has already been to Berlin.
My visit INSIDE the CC Museum in Berlin was most definitely worth the time.
Are you planning to visit the Reichstag as well? How about the Berliner Dom? The Charlottenburg Palace? |

Don't miss the East Side Gallery - the longest intact stretch of the old Berlin Wall extant in today's Berlin and interestingly covered with murals by artists - free and always open. There has been talk of knocking it all down but still standing as far as I know. |
Is no one reading the OP's itinerary or my last comment? The OP has 1 day left on this trip and it's in Warsaw. Berlin was last week.
Oh, well, perhaps the thread will help someone else. I'll be in Poland in June but not going to Germany. However, I love Berlin and would be happy to return there sometime.
Yes many folks read these threads not just the OP - folks like lauren.
Yes. I am going to Krakow and Warsaw in June 2014--which is why I opened this thread. Pretty much plan on doing the same thing as the OP in Krakow.
You probably should start a new thread though specific to your needs as these old threads tend to sink and folks just do not respond to new queries tacked on to old threads.
Well, I am sort of done with most of the research now on the Krakow-Warsaw part of the trip, PalenQ, but you are correct here. Threads reappear when someone looks for prior threads in the search function and then pulls the thread up and it acquires more posts:
I will be blogging my trip to Poland-Belarus-Istanbul-Stockholm-end? Anyone interested can watch my website as the trip evolves: http://altecockertravels.weebly.com/ There will be parts of the trip (esp. Belarus) where I might be out of touch due to lack of wifi. I am already working on my trip for summer 2015. You finish planning one trip and the next one falls into place. |
lauren_s_kahn, looks like you are indeed a travel addict despite age and broken bones (2011). My DW and I have enjoyed lifetimes of travel in U. S. and overseas incl. 41 Road Scholar programs (five day learning time in many locations). Though some past 80 still one more trip...Spain in October.
I went to Chile and Russia with Elderhostel years back--Elderhostel was the predecessor to Road Scholar. They do a wonderful job. I also did a few of their shorter programs within the US.
I intend to keep on traveling until I am forced to sit in a rocking chair. |
