Hi everyone! I've posted here earlier and got awesome advice from everyone. So THANK YOU!

Now that I've narrowed down my choice of countries to Germany and France:

I would like to visit

Germany
1) Frankfurt
2) Heidelberg
3) Berlin

France
1) Paris
2) Provence

- We already bought our tickets to fly into Frankfurt early morning (late June).
- Our budget is tight; we're hoping to spend less than 150 per night.
- We don't mind moving around early mornings and late nights for transportation.

Do you have any recommendations for when and where to travel first?

That's 5 places in 10 days (I hope it's 10 FULL days, and doesn't include arrival or departure days).

All of those destinations are pretty far apart - so some travel time will "eat up" a good portion of many days. Therefore, you really only have 1 1/2 days in each destination. I'm guessing that this will be your first trip to Europe ????

Start over & re-think your plans. France OR Germany - not both. Paris in 1 1/2 days???? Come on!! Same with Provence.

Since you've already bought tickets to Germany I would stay there and skip France this trip, otherwise you won't get a chance to see anything. Moving around a lot will eat into your budget which is quite slim for 2 people. You won't be able to afford the transportation; you'll barely be able to afford to eat.

You can do 3 days in Frankfurt, 2 in Heidelberg, and 4 in Berlin. I would see Berlin first since it's the farthest from Frankfurt, then Heidleberg, and end up in Frankfurt.

jilove. Just to be clear are your talking 150 american dollars for the two of you or each??

You need to google the times for getting from one place to another. You will see how far Provence is from Berlin.

Keep working at this but I'm sorry something still has to give from your five. I'd try to line up Berlin and Paris and look at things to do along the way.

You will lose at least 2 of your 10 days traveling from hotel to hotel.

Then why are you spending so much money on traveling from place to place?

You are flying into Frankfurt. From whence do you depart?

You have to rethink this expedition.

We're hoping to travel just Heidelberg and Frankfurt now (for 3 days) and spend the rest of 7 days in Paris and Nice.

And we're thinking about departing from Nice back to London on our last day.

So your itinerary will look something like this:

Day 1 - Arrive Frankfurt - half day in Frankfurt
Day 2 - Heidelberg
Day 3 - Frankfurt
Day 4 - travel to Paris (1/2 day)
Day 5 - Paris
Day 6 - Paris
Day 7 - travel to Nice
Day 8 - Nice
Day 9 - Nice
Day 10 - travel to London

It's a lot of running around and you won't be able to do this on $150 per day. Even if you have $150 per day each it's not possible. The Frankfurt to Paris tickets are selling for E69 to E89. And you're too late for the inexpensive French fares.

How does your mother feel about all this running around?

Bring some good books and buy food and drinks for the train time.
