Germany

Hi
Were thinking of renting a car in Frankfurt, driving down to Munich and then Prague to Vienna back to Munich. Is there any place in between these places that anyone would strongly reccommend?? I would appreciate some helpful feed back. Thanks :)

Berchtesgaden. Not exactly "between" those three places but a most beautiful location. Salzburg or the nearby Lakes district is fascinating to many.

Having a car in Munich and Vienna is really going to suck. Parking is difficult to find and generally outrageously expensive. Seek alternatives such as staying outside the city and commuting like the locals.

...or just take the train as other locals and tourists

How much time do you have for the trip?
Many people enjoy visiting the Romantic Road on the way from Frankfurt to Munich. Wurzburg, Rothenburg, other smaller cities are all interesting places to visit either for the day or overnight. Having a car for that section is helpful but if you are not going to stop between Frankfurt and Munich I would take the train.
From Vienna back to Munich with a slight detour there are also many possibilities including a drive along the Danube including cities in eastern Germany like Passau and Regensburg. If you want Alpine scenery the Salzburg and Berchtesgaden area makes sense

Thanks altamiro, I should have phrased it "commute using the "trains"... You cleared-up my lack of communication. DOH!
