German Markets

Are there weekly markets in German towns similar to the ones found all over France which sell various regional products? If so, is there a website that might help me find the days they are available?

Topping....

Yes, almost every town has such markets. I don't know a special website for markets all over Germany, though.

Tell us where you will be when and I'll see if I can get info on the (German) websites.

Thanks, Ingo. We will be in the Mosel area, Rothenburg OBT, and Southern (Near Fussen and then Bertchesgaden) avaria.

Anyone else??

Like Ingo said, almost all towns have a market day. Have you tried googling the specific town, gone to their site, and looked for market information? Some sites have a "contact" link for getting more information. Another idea would be to contact the hotel/gasthaus where you are staying and ask them specifically. Good luck!

Good ideas...I got websites for last summer's visit to France for the whole area we visited showing which town had a market on any given day. Perhaps they are listed by town. I will try that strategy!!

Sorry, wren, but I did not succeed so far. I searched on Rothenburg's website, and also some towns along the Mosel - no luck so far. I guess emailing is the best option.

No luck still...everything is focused on "Christmas Markets", which is not what I have in mind.
