German language software

My husband and I will be travelling to Germany next summer and would like to brush up on our German and learn some new stuff before then, so I am looking for some good language software. We would definitely prefer software to language tapes or audio CDs since neither of us spends much time in the car on a regular basis. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

Try http://www.de-world.de and in the left sidebar you will find a link to learning German.

I think haxter1 meant www.dw-world.de. The dE-world web site is a "porno" site. Hope this was just a Freudian Slip

Thanks CharlieB. I never heard of the other site at all. At any rate the correct site should be helpful. It was just a mental error.

Hi!
I have the Learn to Speak German set from The Learning Company and I think it's fantastic for the price. It has voice recognition technology so you can actually practice speaking while you learn (though the recognition is rather forgiving). I've been to Germany three times, and what I've learned from this software has helped me out immensely.

If you're not concerned with cost, however, I've heard that the Rosetta Stone software is the best...but it's not cheap.

Good luck!
